Install Electrum ABC.

Before you install
Always download the installer directly from electrum-abc.org. Check the URL in your browser bar before clicking Download — search-ad results and lookalike domains are the most common way people end up with the wrong file.
Windows
Download the .exe installer from electrum-abc.org. SmartScreen shows a standard caution for any installer it has not yet seen widely — confirm the download came from electrum-abc.org, review Microsoft's own SmartScreen guidance, and only proceed once you are satisfied. Step through the installer and launch Electrum ABC from the Start menu.
macOS
Download the .dmg from electrum-abc.org. Open the .dmg and drag Electrum ABC to Applications. Gatekeeper may prompt on first launch — this is macOS's standard behaviour for newly installed apps. Follow Apple's Gatekeeper documentation to decide how to proceed.
Linux
Download the .AppImage from electrum-abc.org. Make executable: `chmod +x file.AppImage`. Run it directly. Optional: integrate into your application menu with appimaged or your distro's tool.
What you'll see.
On first launch Electrum ABC asks you to create or restore a wallet. New wallet: follow the seed-generation flow and write the 12-word seed down on paper. Restoring: type your existing 12-word seed directly into Electrum ABC's restore screen — never paste a seed from your clipboard, and never enter it into anything other than the wallet you installed.

Which operating systems does Electrum ABC support?+
Electrum ABC ships official builds for Windows 10 and newer (64-bit), macOS 11 Big Sur and newer (Intel and Apple Silicon), and modern 64-bit Linux distributions via AppImage. Source builds are also available for other platforms.
Where should I download the installer from?+
Only from electrum-abc.org. Any other domain, mirror, ad, or search result is not published by us. Bookmark the site and reuse the bookmark for every future install and update.
Does installing Electrum ABC give me any XEC?+
No. Installation only puts the wallet software on your computer. Your XEC balance is created when you send coins to an address controlled by a wallet you create or restore inside Electrum ABC.
How do I uninstall Electrum ABC cleanly?+
On Windows use Settings → Apps or the bundled uninstaller. On macOS drag the app from Applications to Trash. On Linux delete the AppImage file. Your wallet files live in a separate data directory — remove them only after you have verified your seed backup, because deleting them without the seed means losing access to your XEC.
