What XEC is

eCash (ticker XEC) is the native coin of the eCash network — a fork of the Bitcoin Cash lineage secured by SHA-256 proof-of-work.

Where price comes from

There is no single "official" XEC price. Every quote you see is an average or an order-book snapshot from one or more exchanges.

What the wallet shows

Electrum ABC can display an approximate fiat equivalent alongside your XEC balance. It is a convenience readout, not a trading quote.

How to read it

What the numbers actually mean.

Price

Last traded price on a given exchange, or a weighted average across exchanges. It's a snapshot — the next trade may print higher or lower.

Market cap

Price × circulating supply. A useful ordering tool, not a valuation. Thinly traded coins can print large market caps that no one could actually realise.

24h volume

Total XEC traded on tracked venues in the last 24 hours. Higher volume generally means tighter spreads and less slippage on a market order.

Circulating supply

XEC that is issued and liquid today. eCash uses the Bitcoin issuance schedule with periodic halvings, so new supply arrives predictably.
In the wallet

Turning on fiat display in Electrum ABC.

  1. 01Open Electrum ABC and go to Tools → Preferences.
  2. 02Switch to the Fiat tab.
  3. 03Pick a source (CoinGecko is the default) and your fiat currency.
  4. 04The main balance now shows both XEC and the fiat approximation.

The fiat readout is informational. For anything that matters — tax records, sending a precise fiat amount — cross-check against an exchange rate at the moment of the transaction.

Does Electrum ABC show a live XEC price inside the wallet?+

The wallet displays your XEC balance and, optionally, an approximate fiat equivalent pulled from a public price source. It is a convenience readout — not a trading terminal, and not a quote you can execute against.

Why does the XEC price differ between CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and exchanges?+

Each aggregator weights a different basket of exchanges and pairs, and exchange order books diverge based on regional liquidity. Small divergences are normal. Treat any single source as one data point and cross-check before making decisions.

Can I set a fiat display currency?+

Yes. Electrum ABC lets you pick a fiat currency (USD, EUR, GBP and others) for the balance readout in the wallet's preferences. The underlying XEC amount never changes — only the display.

Will XEC reach $1?+

For XEC to reach $1, its market cap would need to exceed the total value of every cryptocurrency combined today. That is not a forecast — it is arithmetic on the circulating supply. We do not publish price predictions.
