XEC price.
How to read the eCash (XEC) price honestly — where the numbers come from, why they diverge, and what the wallet shows you.

We deliberately do not embed a live ticker on this site — an outdated widget is worse than none. Instead, cross-check two or three of the sources below. Aggregators smooth across venues; exchange tickers show what you could actually execute against right now.
| Source | Type | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| CoinGecko | Aggregator | Broad exchange coverage, historical charts, developer/community stats. |
| CoinMarketCap | Aggregator | Widely cited reference price, market-cap ranking, supply data. |
| Exchange tickers | Venue | Executable order-book price for the specific pair you'd trade against. |
| eCash block explorer | On-chain | Circulating supply, block subsidy and network activity — inputs into any valuation model. |

Turning on fiat display in Electrum ABC.
- 01Open Electrum ABC and go to Tools → Preferences.
- 02Switch to the Fiat tab.
- 03Pick a source (CoinGecko is the default) and your fiat currency.
- 04The main balance now shows both XEC and the fiat approximation.
The fiat readout is informational. For anything that matters — tax records, sending a precise fiat amount — cross-check against an exchange rate at the moment of the transaction.
If you care about the price, care about the keys.

XEC price questions we hear most.
Does Electrum ABC show a live XEC price inside the wallet?+
The wallet displays your XEC balance and, optionally, an approximate fiat equivalent pulled from a public price source. It is a convenience readout — not a trading terminal, and not a quote you can execute against.
Why does the XEC price differ between CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and exchanges?+
Each aggregator weights a different basket of exchanges and pairs, and exchange order books diverge based on regional liquidity. Small divergences are normal. Treat any single source as one data point and cross-check before making decisions.
Can I set a fiat display currency?+
Yes. Electrum ABC lets you pick a fiat currency (USD, EUR, GBP and others) for the balance readout in the wallet's preferences. The underlying XEC amount never changes — only the display.
Will XEC reach $1?+
For XEC to reach $1, its market cap would need to exceed the total value of every cryptocurrency combined today. That is not a forecast — it is arithmetic on the circulating supply. We do not publish price predictions.
Where can I actually buy XEC?+
See our neutral list of exchanges on the Buy XEC page. Once purchased, withdraw to your own Electrum ABC wallet — coins on an exchange are the exchange's keys, not yours.
