Where to find it
Open Electrum ABC and click the Receive tab. The current receiving address is shown in full, with a copy button and a QR code. To see every address your wallet has generated, switch to the Addresses tab (View → Show Addresses).
Copy-paste safety
Always paste the receiving address into the sender's app and compare the first and last six characters against what you see in Electrum ABC. Clipboard hijackers can swap addresses silently — verify character-by-character. The ecash: checksum will catch a typo, but not a deliberate swap.
Legacy vs ecash:
Both formats encode the same underlying key. Prefer ecash: when interacting with modern services. Legacy 1… addresses are accepted by Electrum ABC but increasingly less common elsewhere on the XEC network.
Why does my address start with ecash:?+
The ecash: prefix is the address format adopted by the eCash network. It makes it clear at a glance which coin an address belongs to, and it includes a checksum that catches typos. Legacy 1… addresses still work for receiving but the ecash: form is preferred.
Are legacy addresses safe to use?+
Yes — the underlying keys are the same. Most modern XEC services accept both, but a few will reject legacy formatting. If a recipient cannot parse your address, send it in the ecash: form.
Does my address change?+
Electrum ABC rotates receiving addresses for privacy: a fresh address appears in the Receive tab each time you use one. Old addresses still belong to you and still receive funds — they're not abandoned, just no longer shown first.
