Restore your wallet.
From your seed, you can rebuild the same wallet on any machine.
- Share your 12-word seed phrase or private key with anyone — support, admin, moderator, or wallet team.
- Paste your seed phrase into a website, browser form, chat message, or support ticket.
- “Validate”, “sync”, or “verify” your wallet by entering your seed on a page.
- Send funds to an address to “unlock”, “release”, or “migrate” other funds.

Open Electrum ABC
Launch the wallet and choose 'Restore from seed or master key' on the welcome screen.

Enter your seed
Type or paste your 12 (Electrum) or 12/24 (BIP39) word seed. Toggle 'BIP39 seed' if your seed came from a non-Electrum wallet.

Pick derivation
For BIP39, set the script type and derivation path that matches your original wallet. Default XEC: m/44'/899'/0'.

Set a wallet-file password
Pick a password to encrypt the restored wallet file on this machine.

Verify balances
After restore, the wallet scans the chain and shows your XEC balance. If addresses look wrong, redo with a different derivation path.
Can I recover a wallet without the seed?
Only with the encrypted wallet file plus its password. Open Electrum ABC, choose File → Open, and select the .wallet file. Enter the wallet-file password and the wallet rebuilds itself with the same addresses and balance as before. If you have neither the seed nor the file-plus-password, the XEC is unreachable — no support team, third-party service, or "recovery wizard" can change that. It's the price of self-custody.
If addresses don't match
This is the most common restore problem. Cause: the original wallet used a different derivation path or script type. Fix: redo the restore, switching the path until the first address matches the one you recognize.
Can I recover an Electrum ABC wallet without the seed phrase?+
Only if you still have the encrypted wallet file AND its password. Open Electrum ABC, then File → Open and select the wallet file. With both the file and the password, the wallet opens and you keep full control of your XEC. Without the seed and without the file-plus-password combo, the funds are mathematically unreachable — there is no recovery service that can restore them.

Open Electrum ABC, then File → Open and select the wallet file. Enter the wallet-file password if one was set. The file alone is enough to restore as long as you have the password.
I have 12 words from another wallet.+
Choose 'Restore from seed' and select 'BIP39 seed' under the options. If the addresses still don't match what you expect, the derivation path is different — try the standard XEC path (m/44'/899'/0') or check your original wallet's docs.
Addresses don't match what I expect.+
Almost always a derivation-path mismatch. Switch the script type (legacy/cashaddr) or the derivation path in the restore dialog. Address format changes (legacy → ecash:) don't change underlying keys; the addresses are equivalent.
